He was now at the savage land were his mate was supposedly killed by creatures of the sea, creatures she had fought against and won so many times he found it hard to believe she had been killed by them. He felt it then. The very same icy cold feeling his mate had when he found her, there, laying dead by the coast. He turned around and there he was. He knew it then, It had been him. He knew it because he had that grin on his face, He knew it coz he had been there the night Athena talked about spending the night chanting at the beach. He had asked were exactly and she naively responded the place. She was dead now and all because of her sense of truth and her extremely underdeveloped sense of awareness. Delphos desired to kill Didimo. But as everybody knew Didimo was deeply in love with Delphos. “We had a pact” said Delphos. “You’ve broken it and now I must kill you. As we agreed you’d never interfere with my life. Since you’ve broken that pact and killed my beloved Athena I must retaliate”. Didimo responded to this in a particular kind of voice. It was rather sweet but missed with a sense of pain. He said “Whatever happened between you and you mate is now history for this is the last of my teachings to my most revel apprentices of the art”. “ I was not to interfere with your life until that one last day, remember?.” “the day when you’d loose your glory and with your glory everything else you owned. And, well… You owned her, you owned her heart and soul and that’s what made it easy for her to give up her life in order for you to evolve. So now, you must evolve”. His face came close to his former apprentice and with a soft movement of his neck he kissed him on the lips. Delphos was now filled with desire for his former master. Yet, filled with disgust for his actions as well as his own. He knew it had all been his fault. He knew his former actions had led to this cruel ending she didn’t deserve. A cruel ending he was ready to take and incorporate to his life. He’d live from now own with it. With the pain. With the memories of former glory, freedom and a love that didn’t endure enough to be allowed to exist. Didimo left the room, and Delphos left immediately after to full fill the mission he knew he’d had to do someday. The mission that would not allowed him to let anybody fall in love. But, she had fallen in love, now he had lost her. He did not have time to feel sorry at all. From that moment on he’d be Delphos; Sage of Ice. And icy would he be. Although people did not know why, thus he never told his story.

The death of Athena
When the cold icy breath of her powerless body came near him, he thought, “Kill me too. You can’t deny me that, you know it!. You can’t, you have to do what I ask.” He broke down. She was… dead and with her, his illusion were gone. His power and all his might were gone too. He had thought of this moment ever since she made that comment. “It won’t last” she said, turned around and stroke a mage with a sword. He was dead then, the mage. As dead as she was now. Killed by the savage creatures of the sea. “No!” he said. “It was not the creatures of the sea. It was him. I know it was him”. He took and left the place were his glorious mate had found a lethal enemy. He was heading towards his ending as well… His ending in a sort of way. His beginning.
